Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a high performing Trust achieving a ‘Good’ rating in our most recent CQC assessment and making significant progress in the delivery of our strategic objectives. We have a new Children’s Emergency Department and Assessment Unit, state-of-the art Neonatal unit and a new Intensive Care Unit, which is a landmark for Barnsley. We are now seeking to appoint two values-driven and inspiring Non-Executive Directors and an Associate Non-Executive Director to our inclusive and dynamic Board. Accountable to the public and our membership through our dedicated Council of Governors, these roles will provide oversight, governance, leadership and scrutiny as part of a cohesive and values-led Unitary Board.  As Board members, you will demonstrate compassion for our staff and the communities we serve, promote the highest standards of integrity and corporate governance, and offer independent challenge and support. Most importantly, you will role model our values of Respect, Teamwork, and Diversity.

In all these appointments we are seeking strategic leaders with Board level or equivalent experience gained in complex, changing, and multi-stakeholder environments. To complement our existing team, we are interested in hearing from senior leaders in the private, public, or third sector who offer broad experience and skills in one or more of the following areas: finance, people and culture, digital, partnerships, customer experience, integration and innovation.  For the Non-Executive roles whilst previous Non-Executive Director experience is not essential, this may be beneficial in allowing you to quickly add impact and value to our agenda.  Our Associate Non-Executive Director will add additional depth of insight and experience to our Board and is an opportunity for aspiring Non-Executives or individuals who may not have the time available for a full Non-Executive commitment.
